@buskertype: Konishiki was actually at his best when wrestling a few pounds shy of 600. Getting too heavy really limited his mobility, and savvy sumos would figure out a way to use that weight against him.

The B-grade guys, though, would just get smooshed.

@Gramsci: Oh yeah, Konishiki was beyond huge. Love that clip you posted–total manhandling, based on nothing more than using his sheer girth.

And since we’re returning to the topic, let’s not forget the bigger, more charismatic Hawaiian export (whose endorsements dwarf Akebono’s), the Dump Truck, Konishiki.
