Microkhan by Brendan I. Koerner

Oh, My Aching Hands…

March 4th, 2010 · 6 Comments

Sad to report we’re struggling mightily with our current Wired opus. Can’t quite get the lede to sing, and we’re getting lost in the weeds on Section One—so much controversial history to pack into just a few hundred words. Plus we’ve got one last interview to nail down, without which this piece might never gel. So please excuse us while we attend to pressing matters; we’ll be back here as soon as we’ve broken through the haze.

For whatever reason, I just couldn’t get into the original version of Madvillain. However, the Four Tet remixes perfectly complimented the somewhat scattered flow of MF Doom, in my opinion.

@Jordan: Thank you. This will be my soundtrack tonight as I cook pasta–prime music exploration time.

I think the release of Madvillainy sequel (promised for 2010) might just break the Internets.

At least the hipster/dork portion of the Internets. Which is the only part of the Internet I know. Elsewhere be dragons.

@hubcap: The other day, I caught myself fantasizing about snagging firsties in the comments section of an A.V. Club movie review. It was at that exact moment I realized that I could never again deny membership in Hipster/Dork Nation.

Skeptical about the sequel coming out this year. Based on what I know about both Doom and Madlib, they, uh, tend to work at their own pace.

I guess I’m not alone in thinking that the inaugural Microkahn Meetup/Convention would be epic beyond all imagination.

One of these days, scottstev, one of these days. If/when I sell Microkhan to Bertelsmann AG, I’ll have the loot to fly in readers from the far corners of the continent. I’ll get Madlib to DJ, and Ommegang as the beer sponsor.

    There will also be balloons.
